  1. How do you ship your products?

We ship using USPS Priority mail. This ensures delivery in 2-3 days in the United States and 7-10 days internationally. Shipping charges are based on the dollar value of your order.

    In the US:

    • Up to $100 = $6.00
    • Above $100 is free

    For Canada:

    • All shipping will be $16

    All other countries:

    • Up to $200 = $20
    • Over $200 = $24

  2. How can I get a model you don't list?

Contact us via email. We will be happy to research the availability and determine if we can get the model for you. If the model is out of production we can often refer you to a dealer you has stock remaining.

In some cases models are out of production and no more stock is available.  In those cases your best bet will be to watch the auctions on Ebay and German Ebay (Ebay.de).

  3. How do you take your photos?

The original photos on this site were taken using a Sony DSC-P1 point and shoot digital camera mounted on a tripod. This camera was very limited in what it could do and was replaced by a Sony F-717 in 2003.  Almost all the images taken since then were taken with the F-717.  The shots are taken in manual mode to allow full control over depth of field and white balance.

The most critical element in this type of photography is the tripod. There is no way you can hold the camera still enough to avoid blurring the image.

The other key part of the process is using Photoshop for post processing.  In Photoshop I can make an required adjustments to the color and brightness of the images as well as resizing them for use on the internet.  The models are never retouched in Photoshop.  What you see on the site will be roughly what you get- just remember there will be sample to sample variation because these are hand made models.

  4. I'm new to this, what should I buy first?
Ship collecting is a matter of taste. If you are considering the hobby for the first time, I recommend selecting a ship you are interested in and purchasing a single model. That will allow you to see what it is all about. If you are having trouble deciding, feel free to email and ask for help.
