New 1/1250 scale model of the British cross channel ferry Normannia from 1952 by Solent.

Steel twin screw turbine steamer built by Denny's of Dumbarton. Designed for British Transports Commission's route from Southampton to Le Harve, Rebuilt into car ferry 1964. Served on many different routes between 1964 and 1978 when she was sold for scrap.

Built: 1952 William Denny Scotland   Owner: British Transport Commision, Southern Region UK   Dimensions: 309.1 feet long, 48.2 feet breadth   Tonnage: 3,543 tons gross    Speed: 19 knots   Route: Southampton to Le Havre.   Passengers: 1400 and 12 cars    1964: Converted to a car ferry, 500 passengers and 111 cars with new route Dover to Boulogne. Mainly on Newhaven to Dieppe route      Scrapped: France 1979
