New 1/1250 scale waterline model of the American minesweeper Curlew AM-69 by Saratoga (SMY 75) as in 1941.

Catbird class minesweeper. Built 1938 by Charleston Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. as Kittiwake. Purchased by the US Navy on  August 6, 1940. Commissioned November 7, 1940.

Curlew swept mines off Staten Island, New York until October 4, 1941 when she was assigned to the Panama Canal. Served there until February 10, 1944 when she reported to Little Creek, Virginia where she served for the balance of the war. 

Decommissioned December 5, 1945, and transferred to the Maritime Commission September 27, 1946 for disposal.
