New 1/1250 scale model of the frigate Gefion by Spider Navy (SN 0-11) as in 1849.
Laid down 1843 for Danish Navy and completed in 1846. Captured 1849 by the Schleswig-Holstein forces during the First Schleswig War at the Battle of Eckernførde Fjord on April 5, 1849. Taken into German federal fleet as Eckenforde. Transferred to Prussia 1852 and renamed Gefion. Operated as training ship, became barracks ship at Kiel in 1870, stricken 1880 and served as coal hulk, broken up summer 1891.
