Built in 1923 at Palmers Shipbuilding & Iron Company Limited, Hebburn-on-Tyne.

Laid cables in the Caribbean, Pacific and throughout the British isles. On March 25, 1941 while in convoy from Falmouth to Milford Haven with a load of cable she was bombed by German aircraft and set afire. Her crew abandoned ship and she eventually ran aground under the cliffs at Hoopers Point, Pembrokeshire and was wrecked.
